Sappi promotes paper as best packaging material choice
SAPPI has launched a ‘I choose paper’ campaign, which aims to grow its share of the market. Currently paper bags account for only three percent of the 8,5 billion bags in SA, with plastics making up the rest. Albert Lubbe, the Sappi Kraft MD, says that the lack of environmentally-sound, sustainably-produced and biodegradable packaging choices is simply not meeting changing consumer demand or business targets. The company has just launched numerous innovative, custom-designed, green paper packaging solutions, and is in discussions with retailers to switch to paper packaging.
